A true Republican would not be conflicted at all.
If they choose to put race ahead of logic, ahead of the damage he would do to this nation then they aren’t Republicans at all, they are are by definition racists as far as I’m concerned.
We have already seen the subtle aspect of the race factor in the latest Ohio and other polls re the so-called swing states, so critical in the electoral college mathematics.
Ohio - as an example - now, surprisingly, favors McCain by a substantial margin, according to the latest Ras poll I examined. With the Taft debacle clear in the minds of most Buckeyes — and the gross failure of that GOP Governorship, the only factor that can account for the current statistics is that Ohioans are NOT ready for a black president.
It is my view that later in the electoral season, we will see a subtle shift away from Obama, into the McCain camp — not for any reason other than that McCain is NOT Obama — and he is not black, either.
The racial aspect of this election is THE issue NOT discussed openly in polite conversation; however, in the sanctity of the shrouded voting booth, it will be very much a factor. And, I will go to the mat on this analysis. analysis.
Kindest regards, fellow Freepers — and Flame Away. *S*
Agree re the racism = if Dem white folks indicated they were voting for McCain this time around the conclusion reached by the masses would be that those Dems were racists.
So excuse me if I think of the so-called staunch Republican blacks who will vote Obama as being racists. I have to call it as I see it.
