"...ate him up...." Not really. The reception was more like watching a 5 year old eating brussel sprouts - lacking real enthusiasm (even CNN says so).

"...money rolling in...." not sure there - the accounting reports have been slow to be made public, removing foreign contributions may not be part of the equation. It make for a good line in a story, but other reports say he is behind in contribution targets.
