“I think they’re take advantage of our military engagements around the world. This would be the time to stretch us thin.”

Unfortunately, we’re already thin. That’s why they can do what they want. The Iraq War has taken five years longer than assumed. We really don’t have the ability to fight anywhere else until we end that war.

???

There is no war to end.. We simply use Iraq and Afghanistan as a base of operations for the feature presentation against Russia and her allies.

We are in a FAR better position to fight this war than we would have been without those 2 positions.

The Iraq War has taken five years longer than assumed.

We should have crushed them, split the country on ethnic lines, and left. (Well, maintained just enough presence to keep neighboring countries from trying to take over and start slitting their islamic brothers' throats).

For all the help they gave us, Turkey has earned a hostile Kurdistan on its border.

And the fact that the new Kusrdistan would border Iran is just icing on the cake.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Tell me, what battles did we fight in Iraq today? How many soldiers are committed to battle right now? We have 100,000+ military on the ground there, and the country has stabilized. We can easily commit some of those troops to a fight with Russia if need be.

Unfortunately, a war between us and Russia will not involve soldiers. It will involve satellites, computers, rockets and brinksmanship. We have the winning hand but I hope they back down without us having to play it.

The Iraq War has taken five years longer than assumed.

Than who assumed? It takes an average of 9 years to quell an insurgency, and Bush or Rumsfeld originally said something like 8 to 10.
