For those of us non science folks, could you be so kind as to put this phenomenon in plain English?
Let’s assume this all happened within the next year - what would it mean to the average every day person on the street?

what would it mean to the average every day person on the street? Satellite communications would be disrupted.
If the Earths magnetic field was weakened enough the national power grid could be destroyed.
Fragile electronics like computers could be destroyed.
If it lasted long enough birth defects and cancer rates would climb and fertility rates would fall.

If the poles flip, gravity will come from a different direction and we'll have to begin walking on our hands. Pants pockets will have to be redesigned and Toyota will offer cars with a windshield closer to ground level.
We will shake hands with our feet.

Lets assume this all happened within the next year - what would it mean to the average every day person on the street? Among other things, it would mean your compass points south instead of north.

This one might be real - I’ve heard about it off and on for a number of years.
