Those after-Biden/after-Convention polls showing McCain even or slightly ahead do bode well for Conservatives.

They give McCain the impression that he can still win without playing to the Conservatives. Where else are they going to go anyway?

[I still expect McCain to pick a VP who is an obvious finger-in-the-eye to Conservatives.]

Well, if you'll forgive me, I'm just going to say it again and again until everyone knows I'm the one who said it:

This election is McCain's to lose. And he's just the man who could do it.

That's what worries me. For a non-egomaniac with McCain's experience, this election would be a cake-walk. It's not for nothing that I call him McMeMeMe.
