Laura Ingraham - PALIN: The PERFECT Conservative Choice!!
Townhall ^ | August 29, 2008 | Laura Ingraham

Posted on 08/29/2008 5:45:39 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Most conservatives did not think that the selection of Palin was truly under consideration, but we have all been pleasantly surprised. Perhaps “surprised” understates our emotions. How about “shocked”, “awed”, “inspired”, and “thrilled”! It simply doesn’t get any better than the 44 year old Palin. If conservatives were caught off guard, you may rest assured that the Democrats were even more blown away – and in spite of last night’s Obama euphoria, they will lose considerable sleep tonight.

Look at this! Palin is all of:

· A Devout Christian

· Pro-Life & Traditional Family Values

· Fiscal Conservative

· Tax-Cutter

· Business Executive Experience

· Energy Expert & Oil Industry Savvy

· Peace Through Strength Philosophy

· Gubernatorial Experience

· Lifetime Member of the NRA

Her great looks, classy image, poise, grit, and speaking skills will establish her as a dynamo on the campaign trail. It just doesn’t get any better than this! I am almost as excited as I was organizing rallies for Reagan during the 1980s.

This was a hard fight for a high stakes appointment, with much blogging, e-mailing, and lobbying behind the scenes. It’s time to unite, heal the wounds, and defeat the humanist-secularist-socialist-enivironmentalwacko-pacifist-extremist-religionists and further the cause of LIFE, LIBERTY, & TRUTH!

I was lukewarm about McCain, but after this pick, I donated to his campaign.

I was convinced about McCain after Saddleback but had not donated...until today. Superb choice.

” My only beef with Palin is that she gave her kids weird names. “

Well, it’s Alaska. You have to do something to entertain yourself.

” Palin-Ingraham 2016! “

Wouldn’t THAT just shove it right up their noses!

Well, I was actually looking for some of her positions on various aspects of US policy. Her son could be going to Iraq and she could be frantic to get our troops out in order to get him out (although she doesn’t seem quite the type for that sort of take on it.)

I am fairly quickly tiring of the ‘ain’t got no experience’ crapola....

If you are arguing that she doesn’t have enough ‘experience’ in national politics, I say BRAVO....I want someone OUTSIDE the usual political loop.

And it’s not like we’re expecting her to build a nuclear reactor here...my only qualifications for the job of POTUS is having a strong conservative value system and common sense...everything else can be learned or reasoned. It really is not that hard.

I’ve always wanted to be president (not that any Democrat and some Repubs would like to hear what I have to say)...I’m a conservative 48 y.o. physician, served 22 years in the USN both as a line officer and physician, own a medical small business with about $15 mill in revenues that employs 50-60, raised two kids and just had my 20th wedding anniversary to my first and only wife. I hunt, golf, go to church and I am civically oriented....I understand right from wrong, believe in the U.S. Constitution and the wisdom of the founders. I think I’m eminently qualified, though unfortuantely in the present political environment eminently unelectable.

I’m not one to believe that ‘political experience’ is a must, and I think our nation needs some NEW blood...NOT asshats like Biden.

Good grief!

Why is supposed ‘

Yes, you asked for her positions on the WOT, and in reply, I offered a link to her speech in my post because she talked about her foreign policy views. However, I think I made the link too unobvious, so here's the youtube link again: McCain-Palin Rally in Dayton, Ohio.

“Palin is a LOT prettier than Reagan, though”

I agree with you on that one, bless her heart.

Haha - I’m sort of choking here — the local ABC TV station just ran a news promo saying McCain “has picked a working Mom as his VP Candidate.” No mention that she is the Governor of Alaska!

Since she’s obviously making more than say $50,000, she’s not able to be classified as ‘working’ by Democrat standards.

Ahem:

Palin/Jindal 2016

Laura will be too busy arraigning and convicting Democrat traitors as Attorney General to preside over the Senate, dontyouknow.

Hi, Vision Thing. Thanks, but I saw the speech. I was looking for something, shall we say, a little more detailed. (See my tagline, but, no, I am not implying anything about Gov. Palin. The tagline is sort of a joke - I’m an engineer, so, I am all too familiar with where the “devil” resides...)

How about this for a bumper sticker:

McCain isn’t a Socialist.

That's true if you exclude the facts he has sponsored bills with flaming socialists Kennedy, Lieberman and Feingold to grant amnesty to illegal aliens, support the fallacy of human induced global warming and restrict free speech not to mention opposing drilling for oil in ANWR as do the socialist Democrats.

Geez - they did it again! This last news promo just said “John McCain has his woman.”

How obviously biased can you get — and I am in a relatively conservative area!

nice try. I wasn’t a McCain supporter but in fairness he’s no socialist.

I don't have to try. McCain has done all the work for me considering supports amnesty for illegals, the fallacy of global warming, restriction of free speech and opposes drilling for oil in ANWR. All positions the socialist Democrats support.

Think they'd have uttered those words if Obama picked Hillary!

I think not. The double standard is appalling...

Here’s a question for the dim victim industry:

“If Conservatives are against the one who may not be directly looked at because we are sexist then why are we so enthusiastic about McCain’s pick ?”

I'm starting to think that you and your buddies wouldn't have a good word for Senator John McCain (Captain, U.S. Navy-Retired) if he cloned President Reagan and named him his running mate.

You aren't grasping some very simple points. People can only vote for Presidential candidates. VP's are selected because they are willing to support their boss on the the issues a Presidential candidate considers key. Consequently he will have far greater influence on her than she will on him.
