How many fund-raisers would you like your candidate to attend in September, with 60 to 30 days remaining until Election Day? By my count, Obama's doing about 40 of them. One of them is in London.
Now, many of them will not be major time commitments. Drop in, shake a few hands, give a five to ten minute speech, then hop in the motorcade to get to the next event. And some of them can effectively double for speeches if he decides to open up these events to the press.
But by comparison, McCain will be doing none, unless he appears at RNC fund-raisers.
To correct the author it appears that McCain is doing some fund-raising during this period. I believe that McCain appeared at a fund-raiser in Chicago yesterday for example.
Rumor going around town here in Chicago is that it was a thinly veiled excuse to stop and pick up some deep dish pizza.
London? Can anyone check and see if McCain/Palin have done ANY fundraisers outside of the US?
I guess being a global citizen and all, Obama believes those across the pond should have a say in our elections.
One fundraiser per day!
Ugh, is he running for butler at Buckingham Palace?
Good, in London he can get that idiot Russell Brand to host (the British host of the VMAs who talked crap about McCain and Palin).... get it all on video.... then have the McCain campaign play it over and over right before Election Day.
Yeah but is Obama going to be at all of them? I’d be surprised if he travelled to London for example in the final 50 days of the election.
His upcoming Streisand fundraiser will nail his coffin shut. $28,500 for dinner and a chance to hear the fat lady sing. I’m requesting “The Way We Were” - he’ll need something to hum on November 5th.
McCain held one fundraiser in the spring in London for US citizens abroad at the Rothschilds on the tail end of an international trip. The campaign paid for it, not taxpayers.
Bambi can’t speak in complete sentences normally, and always likes to use excuses like “I haven’t had much sleep in the last 48 hours,” when he does make gaffes. It will be interesting to see what effect all these fundraisers will have on his already poor speech patterns.
London?
Thought FOREIGN money was off limits?
Is he hoping the radical MUZZIES will cough up some money?
Even if they do, the Obomination WILL NOT WIN.
Larry Sinclar?

It seems to me that, after 19 months on the campaign trail, anyone who really wanted to meet "The One" has already met him. These expensive fundraisers are putting one heck of a dent in Nancy Pelosi's "book" sales.

The UK has a problem with Muzzies - especially in LONDON.
Got to admit, I’m not real big on that either, US citizens or not.
(From Variety link off Drudge yesterday)
Barbra Streisand will be among the headliners at a fund-raiser for Barack Obama on Sept. 16, where she will perform for the presidential candidate at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
The plans for the event were outlined this morning and Streisand confirmed that she would take the stage. The hotel ballroom holds an estimated 700 people.
Obama’s fund-raiser is expected to be his final visit to raise money here before the general election.
Obama will start the evening with a 5 p.m. dinner event for about 250 people at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, the historic estate once owned by the legendary Doheny family. Tickets for the event are $28,500.
Later, he will attend a reception at the Beverly Wilshire, followed by Streisand’s special performance. Tickets for the event are $2,500 per person.
Here’s the link — some of the comments are a howl!

Re: One of them is in London.
Yet another commercial to be made!
And while Neobama is fundraising, McCain/Palin will be speaking to the American people.
Do we want a President that can’t think when he hasn’t had enought sleep? What if the phone rings at 3am?
