BERKELEY, CA (KGO) -- The final showdown is unfolding at UC Berkeley. As campus police move in on the tree sitters occupying the last of the remaining trees. There have been many violent confrontations between police and protestors.

Objects thrown, weapons drawn, people arrested - it's all going down right now at UC Berkeley. Campus police in a cherry-picker are actively trying to get the tree sitters down from their perch in a redwood tree. A dramatic ending to the nearly two-year protest over the removal of trees to build a new university sports complex.

If the video is busy, basically they have scaffolding up and a crane with a platform hovering overhead.

When they get infected, you have to extract them.

    YES!
Spray them down with some industrial-grade disinfectant while you’re at it.
Damn stinkin’ hippies.

The cops should head on over to fruit grove and borrow a tree shaker. A few nets might be nice to prevent lawsuits.

Wonder if they had planned on voting absentee?

Does anyone find it a bit ironic that Berkeley has to face down the very kind of people it encourages and develops?

I'd suggest softening them up first with a few volleys of pepper-spray paintballs.

I still say the University should have sprayed these tree sitters with a solution mixed with skunk oil from day one. Each day they could increase the percentage mixture until these pathetic losers come down on their own.

I don’t get it. The video just shows workers harvesting nuts. (sarc)

To: Macaw
Why bother extracting them from the trees?
