I’m suprised! The last time the market tanked like this the halted trading so that all could catch their breath.
Agreed - it was going to happen whether the government acted or not. The choice was whether to have it happen quickly, or, with the bailout, happen slowly but with a huge handful of government control mixed into the market. As we all know, once the government gains control of anything, it seldom relenquishes that control.
The fact that Pelosi and Frank are mad means that the right thing happened. I will be writing a 'thank you' note to my Rep - he voted against this debacle.
