Gwen's comments right after the debate (Vanity)

Posted on 10/03/2008 12:20:02 AM PDT by gman4bush

I watched the Fox News version of the debate again, and you could hear the chatter after the debate was over. Palin went over to Gwen first to greet her, and Gwen asks, "Now that wasn't hard was it?" Palin responded, "Not at all." and walked away.

Then Biden walked over and Gwen said, "You did a very very good job."

The condescension was sickening.

When Ifill interrupted Palin (when Palin was talking about Biden’s coal comments “at the rope”) was Palin’s time really up? Maybe it was, but it would be interesting to review to see. I DVRed the debate; will check tomorrow if no one else does before then...and if you do ping me please!

I thought Gwen met Gov. Palin on a respectful level, as equals. Yet Gwen treated Biden like a child; like a boy who just rode a bike without training wheels for the first time.

To me her manner just seemed plastic and insincere. A marriage of the emotionless NPR style and the dull plodding mannerisms of a government bureaucrat.

On the live thread, a freeper said they heard her call Sarah “Dear”.

You don’t do that to someone in a professional relationship, especially a vice presidential candidate. I’d like to see her say that to Biden.

That said, she was fairer than I expected, although she kept giving Biden the last word. But Rush said this. He said because of the conflict of interest, she would have to make more of an effort to be fair.

“I thought Ifill was perfectly fair, as was Lehrer.”

She asked almost no questions about any of Palin’s strong suits: drilling for oil, guns, and abortion.

Funny, that.

She had ninety minutes. She asked questions about the economy, Iraq, tax policy, the role of the VP. Which questions did she ask that you think should have been replaced?

I am not sure about this, but did they keep an open mike on Sarah and shut down Joe’s?

Right. I heard the dismissive “Dear” reference. I also believe Ifil was more subtle in her bias. Sarah had to break through to get to Energy, which everyone agrees is her strong suit. Gwen did not ask a thing about energy. Also, she kept forcing Sarah to defend McCain and invited Biden to tell what all Bush and McCain did wrong. Very unbalanced.

I am shocked that they treat a sitting Governor with such disdain. Being Governor was good enough for both Roosevelts, Clinton, Reagan, Carter, GW Bush, etc., and the Dems were picking Kansas Gov Sibelius for VP.

The 800 pound gorilla is Obama’s bigger lack of experience.

Gwen is a brain dead Dim hack. She didn’t ask a single question on energy, abortion, or guns. Gee, I wonder why...

Gwen Ifill, whore of the DNC, NEVER publicly admitted
her financial connections to Obama's Victory Book (due out 1/20/0).

PBS and Ifill must FOREVER be banned from US election debates.

Amen machogirl...the elite women don't like her (kinda like HS and the cheerleaders are being bit@#y).

I didn't think Ifill was particularly derogatory during the debate itself...I think Matt Drudge having the banner up on his site about Ifill's upcoming literary release made Gwenny pull back and tone down.

Ifil is a duplicitous cheating b*tch.

NO ONE can convince me she didn’t provide Biden with the questions in advance.

When I heard MSNBC commentators say, “This won’t matter in a couple days.” I knew Palin had scored.

Ifill did appear to have cheated as well as lied to the Debate Commission (no problem for her).

As noted last knew, Biden knew the questions in advance,
and answered without a nanosecond of thought delay.

Ifill cheats for money. PBS hires cheats. PBS is a partisan conspiracy pretending to be public TV.

The Headlines all over, from Reuters to AP to CNN, is "Biden and Palin Spar Over Economy and Iraq."

HA!

If Biden had even a 1 mm opening against her last night, they would have blown it all out of proportion.

Palin wiped the floor with Joe Plugs.

She must have.

Ifill asked Plugs what you won't live up to that you already promised, and Plugs took about .00001 nanoseconds to launch into a 5 part response with 7 bullet sub-points.

Here is the "cripple" on stage for full sympathy effect for a broken ankle.

The headline from the LA Times says:

Gwen Ifill was a true journalist: fair

I remember when newspapers used to put Editorials on the Editorial page.

this morning CNN and MSNBC are just insane trying to create excuses.

They only play the white flag of surrender clip because it fits the MSM worldview of “republicans want to keep fighting like the warmongers they are”

NOBODY is picking up on the dig at michel and barak about ALWAYS BEING PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN.

We need a pop-up buble debate.
