Yes, George Will is as I said. He’s a purist conservative who will gleefully sacrifice the good in pursuity of some utopian “perfect.”

Since, I believe he’s a bright man, I believe he knows exactly what he’s doing. He is willfully engaging in destroying hopes for defeating the enemy of the good.

What exactly makes President Bush a failure in your mind: that he lowered taxes, that he fought back against terrorism, that he appointed pro-life judges, that he rid us of the threat of Saddam Hussein, that he opposed banking corruption that has us in this mess, that he presided over a growing economy for nearly his entire presidency despite the huge economic damage of 9/11 and despite the costs of a nation a war?

All along George Will has been that little slimey creature that sits on the lap of Jabba the Hut...picking, picking, picking, because he’s in search of perfection.

"George Will, in reality, is an Obama supporter.

I've always enjoyed reading Gearge. When I heard him speak 3 weeks ago, though, he stated that if Obama won, it wouldn't be a big deal. That bothered me a lot.

I’ve not appreciated George Will for some time now. Often he’s inane; most often he sides against those who he should consider his allies.

Shoot at me once, and I might consider it an accident. Shoot at me regularly, and I understand you to be the enemy.

TThis, McCain and his female Sancho Panza say...

I stopped reading there.

Will is in the tank for Obama.

If there is a Sancho Panza here, it is George Will and he is Obama's Sancho Panza.

Sancho Panza = dumb but practical.

Will is demeaning Palin and he knows it. Will is a snake in the grass.

Palin is the only candidate in this race that gives me hope.

Same here.

If John McCain does nothing more in this campaign than introduce Sarah Palin, and introduce us to the idea that there are great — but ignored — leaders out there, then that will be something to take away from this.

I might move to Alaska. It might just be the last bastion of the free United States after Obama begins his communist indoctrination.

Interestingly, a communist society cannot endure social chaos. They have always been reclusive, humorless places. There will be no protesting Hollywood actresses or social chaos-inducing pornography. That will get closed down.

There will also be no freedom...no thinking. It will be the beehive, and the workerbees will give obeisance to the queens and drones. A dark age will follow.

I think quite a few people concluded that it was grossly irresponsible for someone of McCain’s age and medical history to put such a green newbie on the ticket.

So, just because he criticizes the sorriest Republican nomination in history, George Will is an Obama supporter?

It’s really a sad day for the Republicans when you’re defending McCain against George Will.

Thanks for the dose for sanity.

re: This is the George Will of the last decade, and anyone who hasn’t noticed it is not paying attention.)))

Didn't Will remarry a much younger woman? Probably took to watching Jon Stewart.

“Shoot at me regularly, and I understand you to be the enemy.”

Are you talking about McCain or Will? It’s arguable that Will can be characterized this way but that line fits McCain perfectly.

It's really a sad day when George Will is not defending nominee John McCain. This is a war for America's future, not a drawing room tit-for-tat, where the most clever bon mot wins. But I guess the definition of an elitist is someone who would rather be glib than loyal.
