We have had up, down, up, down, up down.....days for over a month...We are nearly right back where we were a month ago.

One could make a case for a bottom here....and another could say this is just a pause until the next shoe drops.

It's a tough market....but we've been here before.

That being said....IMO, more factors in the soup.

Especially with the article I read here about Obama, Pelosi, and Reid wanting to put all 401K's together government retirement account or something like that...cannot remember what it was called right now. They want to raid everyone's 401K $$ like they did to Social Security.

Genius #2 looked to be in her thirties.

I think (from what I've read) the dumbing down of our educaton system began when the unions started taking over - in the 60's. So, Genius #2 could've been dumbed down enough, even at her older age. ;) They're getting dumbed down more with each passing year, so eventually even when you explain how to do the math, they won't understand a thing you're saying.

I bet they all hide the next time they see you coming to their counter!

AK’s an idea though. But they do give illegals driver’s licenses and I’ve read, are an out and out sanctuary state. I’d have to see that disavowed first!

I've given up trying to predict the stock market. I've had better luck predicting what my cat will do next. ;)

But - historically we are actually back where we were - not just a month ago - but Oct. 1998! That would be zero gain in one decade if one does not count dividends. That's good enough reason for me to believe that all the 'historical' data about the market won't hold true any longer. It just may not be that good of an investment any longer since it has been manipulated by TPTB. (Especially with a socialist in charge now.)

I'd cut people a little slack for at least a few days. Right now many are in shock.

It is very frustrating, to say the least, that when your house is on fire people vote to put gasoline on it to make it better. If there are no consequences for stupid behavior there's little incentive to change it.

Pull up a monthly DOW chart...from 1960 to now.

Gives a different perspective.

IF...one held from '98 to now..and never took profits...they are..well, not a very good steward of their money.

When the trend is down...it's very difficult to predict a reversal. Trends are powerful things...and tough to reverse.

I love trends....give me a trend and I can trade it. Up, down...I don't care.

That being said.....you need to study both sides of the market. There are ETF's that you can trade...that take both sides of the market.

I have seen posts today - rooting for another stock market crash - hoping Russia moves missiles to the border of E.U. just to test Obama - and many many other Anti-American posts.

Reminds of of DU when they “hope” the war fails. Really a disgrace and black eye for freepers.
