Dear Sen. McCain:
Sir, you must be aware that the media has been on fire passing along vicious rumors from unattributed sources within your campaign attacking Sarah Palin. You are the only one who can put an end to this. You chose your campaign staff, and you chose your running mate. To paraphrase Harry Truman, the buck stops with you.
If you are indeed the stand-up guy I believe you to be, please, investigate, get the facts, call a press conference, name names (as you promised to do with any of your colleagues who introduced pork-laden bills), tell the truth and put this rumor-mongering to rest.
I know you are aware of the fact that Gov. Palin did quite a lot to build enthusiasm for your campaign. I've heard you acknowledge such in public. You asked her to run with you, and she gave it all she had. Don't you think you owe it to her and all of those who supported the McCain-Palin ticket to clear all of this speculation up? If it is allowed to continue, it will only serve to harm your reputation, Gov. Palin's and the reputations of those in your campaign who acted honorably.
Sarah Palin and your supporters stood up for you when you asked them to. Now it's your turn, Senator. Stand up! Speak out!
Sincerely,
- JP
It sure is.
McQueeg was pretty quick to silence the boos in the audience as he praised Obama.
Unless John McCain is laying comatose and unidentified in some podunk hospital out in the desert somewhere, I think his complicity in all this is a foregone conclusion.
“If you are indeed the stand-up guy I believe you to be...”
There’s your problem.
Oh, so it’s about party and not truth?
Why do people keep saying that? He didn't. He was a screw-up who did little more than continually crash planes. Sure he gets a nod for the suffering he had to undergo while a POW, but this guy has never actually accomplished anything meaningful.
Senator John McCain has gone back to Washington, and Governor Used Kleenex has gone back to Anchorage.
She has my vote locked up!!!
How can a man who was so brave, be such a coward? I guess people change after 50 years.
Tell him how you feel:

Dear RedState,
You’re a bunch of idiots. Do you actually pay attention?
McCain works with Dems more often than a lot of Dems do.
I’m afraid the next time we hear from Ol’ John is when he is proudly announcing that he is the co-sponsor of the Amnesty for 20 million Mexicans bill.
Then where were the stories about Palin’s idiocy and immaturity when the hundreds of lamestream reporters were looking for dirt in Alaska two months ago?
McCain is in hiding and this speaks loudly to those of us who sent money in after naming Palin!
Bill Cunningham
What do we know?
McCain ran a poor race. He went through the motions.
We know Obama had over a billion dollars spent on his campaign. He bought it.
McCain is happy being a Senator. He is happy crossing the aisle and working with opponents...
He wanted to be President ... but not bad enough.
I believe God brought forth Sarah Palin. No accident. Good is condemned daily everywhere. She is not of the background of the Washington elite. Thank you, Father.
The press will castigate anyone who stands for the values Sarah has and holds. It is , indeed up to true Conservatives to support her and be vocal about it. MO
Maybe Jim Rob can put up a poll asking whether we supported McCain/Palin because of:
McCain
Palin
Both
I did not support McCain/Palin
or some such.
How about it, Jim?
Completely scientific, of course. ;)
Go Away.
Sincerely,
Undertow
“Lets say for the sake of argument, they arent rumors. Or while maybe exagerated, are rooted in truth.
What should Mac do then?”
Even if true, McCain has an obligation to protect Palin from being thrown under the bus by HIS OWN PEOPLE. Not doing so gives the strong impression that the attacks are really sanctioned by him.
McCain was the LAST person I wanted to be our candidate, as I said before, I made cartwheels when he looked defeated in the primaries, down and out of money, rumors flying that he would bow out of the race. I was attacked for my critical stance (held my nose to vote for him.) He is just an angry, codgy old man, and I can definitely see him getting VERY upset (if that event actually occured) when Palin showed up with her own concession speech she was going to give to the public. He would obviously perceive that as a major slap in his face, and would likely tell his people to go ahead and “have at it.”
Why weren’t Mac’s polling numbers more accurate or his ground game more directed? He should have been campaigning in Florida, NC, Nevada and Missouri instead of Pennsylvania.
Coulda shoulda woulda, I know. It just stinks the way things turned out.
