She is not a politician. I think it is different. Your post would work with Hillary Clinton who is now a politician and not first lady. Different situation. Politicians should not be treated with velvet gloves but First Ladies should have more respected treatment. I would not like Laura Bush being offered this but a politician is fair game. I am sure that Sarah will not take the offer. I would not worry about it. Get some rest.

I don't think that politicians are “fair game” for these types of offensive public remarks. IMO, they are way out of bounds, whether directed to Democrats, Republicans, men, or women. That doesn't mean the slimeball shouldn't be free to make such offensive remarks, but we don't have to believe that they are appropriate and that the targets are “fair game” for them. We make this distinction to our 13 year old all the time, and she understands it.
