I guess this will all depend on where the country is in 2011.

If we're in the midst of a major economic collapse with Obama having 30% approval ratings, you'll get everyone running.

If we're on the up turn and Obama is popular, it'll probably be Palin's if she wants it.

But does she want it in that situation?

The Obamanation that is Obamunism will last less than one term. Look at Venezuela and see how long it takes for people to wise up.

Obama has the luck of the devil. He comes in office just as we’re going into a major recession. If the past is prologue, we’ll probably be blooming into full recovery by 2011, unless he decides to go full tilt Marxist on us. In which case, the 51% who will receive the Marxist handouts from the 49% that are giving will re-elect him.

Morons. Do they think she won’t consider her chances at winning? Go away, Mitt...and Pawlenty.

She can keep her options open, too, like any other potential candidate. Sure, she can prepare the ground, build her contacts and prestige and potential fundraising network, etc.

She is perfectly capable of deciding in 2011 whether or not it looks like a good time to run.

She should make herself the #1 political figure in the USA on energy issues. The McCain campaign did an abysmal job of utilizing the standing and experience she already has, but she must continue to grow and improve since it will always be an uphill struggle against the Mediascum. Why didn’t the McCain camp make energy a gigantic issue and emphasize its centrality to the economy?? They allowed the Obamanation to steal “it’s the economy stoopid” from the Clintons and run with it. Palin should have been the silver bullet against the idea that the Demagogues understand energy policy or that they will allow this country to supply more of its own energy needs.

Most of all I hope she concentrates hard on policy issues, prepares to be enough of a wonk that no one can serious question her wattage (I didn’t but enough did on the right as well as the left that she needs to keep improving).

Just to be clear. I’m not interested in anybody for President that would calculate waiting until 2016 because they don’t want to challenge Obama and figure it’ll be a “Republican’s” turn in 2016. It’s cowardice, it’s not principled, and I’m tired of Republicans backing down from a fight.

Besides, we already ran the old guy liberal guy who’s turn was up giving Dems a free trip to the W.H. this election cycle. I’m not interested in another go through the motion’s year.

Let these fscking morons give up now, before we see the political landscape, like they did for 2008. We’ll be here to take care of business when the time comes. Losers.

I seem to recall a Democrat governor ran in ‘92 when pretty much nobody else on that side thought it was worth it and did all right. You’d think they’d remember that, too.

I think the GOP would be fools to let her run. She’s unelectable, popular only among the hardcore base. They’ll find some other job to keep her busy.

This a great example of why the party is where it is right now. The guy hasn’t even been sworn in yet and people on our side think it’s a lost cause.

I wish she and Jindal would declare that they are running as President and VP of the Constitution Party, and we are going to restore the Constitution.

I put the odds of defeating Obama in 2012 at about 20%, regardless of the economic circumstances.

If we are in that situation, I don’t want Palin to run. I don’t want the media to have another excuse to bash her yet again. In such a situation, I would support Romney. Let him spend his fortunate and lose to the Communist Organizer.

For someone so lightly regarded by the Dems as out of her league, they sure seem to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to tear her down.

This can only mean one thing. They are scared of their wits they will have to run against her in 2012. They used to use the same argument about Reagan. That worked really well - not.
