S & W has new owners and has repudiated their former stance. I don’t recall what Ruger did?
Ruger supported the original Assault Weapons Ban, as long as "our little gun" was protected.
But never fear the HR 1022 version of the reinstatement of the ban, bans it by name, and by characteristics. (It also bans the M1A1 semiauto version of the M-14 and the Mini-14/30 is based on a scaled down M-14 design.)
