How can this be? NOAA (I think) says it will be the hottest.

Haven’t read about their prediction for 2009 - yet.
The British Met Office did make a prediction that 2009 would be “the hottest ever.” Again - they tried that before: in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
But every year cooled more than the previous.
