During a thunder storm, people carry many umbrellas, therefore umbrellas cause thunder storms. Same logical fallacy. Correllation des not equal cuasation.

Are you sure its not puddles? There are almost always puddles associated with thunderstorms. Rainy thunderstorms, anyhow.
