Thank God. At least McCain is good on that. Oh, and the WOT. Gotta give him some credit.

McLame who? Who the h**l cares?

He should have gone after the mother of all earmarks — the trillions we’ve been spending on multiple bailouts of failed companies. But he’s supported those.

So now he’s going after a few million dollars a year in relative chump change here and there? This guy’s ridiculous, maybe senile and definitely a RINO.

Palin 2012.

Ditto, that is the one thing McCain was actually strong on, earmarks. I think folks analyzing his career found something like only two earmarks he requested, one was military and one was a major road project.

I wonder why he wasn’t such a raving fiscal discpline hawk during the election and the bailout fiasco?

The larger Gov’t grows, the more such rule-making to regulate everything is needed.

McCain just entered reelection mode.

He knows he’s royally pissed off the base, so he’s trying to save whatever he thinks he has left.

I personally want McCain defeated. 2010.

Excuse me? McCain is horrible on earmarks.

Didn’t either of you see his yes vote on 700 billion dollars worth of earmarks?

Excuse me, 850 billion dollars worth of earmarks?

He may not request earmarks himself, but he’s not strong on the issue.

A $12,000 earmark for cherry tomato research just doesn't seem to matter when hundreds of billions are being handed out to banks so they can buy each other.

But the bailout bill was okey-dokey with him. Maybe he will suspend his senate term to work on these earmarks.

Trying so hard to seem relevant, to stay in the news. It’s like a drug to him.

Sorry, but earmarks are such a small percentage of the total budget and coupled with McAmnesty's support for every Big Government solution to every problem you could think up, McCain's fiscal bona fides are wearing frightfully thin!

How about passing some legislation forbidding a candidate to accept an online credit card donation without verifying the owner of the card?

I guess that's just too complicated -- or too directly challenging of his recent opponent whose toes he intends to lick -- for the technology-challenged McCain to figure out.

Yeah, pork -- that's really going to be effective, McCain, the grandstanding dunce.

If McSame were all that serious about cutting government waste, he should have proved it by putting Barry balls-to-the-wall during the closing months of the campaign.

He had his shot; MANY, actually, leading up to the Election; and he choked EVERY single time. He never could muster the fire required to let loose with a K.O. punch; just a few ‘showtime’ jabs here and there to prove he could deliver a stinging one-liner if he wanted to. But he never went at it with the kind of zeal that would lead Americans to believe he REALLY was serious about defeating Obama. If anything, after the Palin selection, he found himself forced to ratchet up his own act just to keep us all mindful of who was heading the ticket.

Reminded me of an old office cartoon showing a suit-and-tie executive type chasing a crowd of office employees; the caption read “I must hasten after then for I am their leader.”

THAT was the overal characterization of the McSame campaign, from beginning to end, almost without exception.
