And when there is a real threat - like salmonella in peanut butter products - we don’t hear about it till thousands are sickened and at least 9 people have died.

Oh well.

A type cytokine called an interleukins can produce the emotion of imminent doom. Interleukins are present in all cases of food induced immune hypersensitivity disorder (food addiction/allergy).

Prophets of doom simply capitalize on these latent emotions.

Scripture states...In the last days men’s hearts will fail them for fear.

I have never seen the like of people scared to death of everything...everything they are told to be afraid of.

Because Individuals may be truly brilliant, but “people” are generally incredibly, fatalistically stupid.

What a coincidence. This week I was wondering what happened to mad cow disease in Great Britain. Turned out it’s still killing people. You don’t see it in the news. One report said one in 4,000 could be carrying it. Because of genetics most won’t develop a full blown case.

“Ehrlich also warned in The Population Bomb that man made emissions of carbon dioxide would cause catastrophic global warming. He suggested that a few degrees of heating could melt the polar ice caps and raise sea level by 250 feet even out-fearmongering Al ’20-foot tidal wave’ Gore on his best worst day.” (3)

Harvard University biologist George Wald in 1970 warned, “…civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” That was the same year that Senator Gaylord Nelson warned, in Look Magazine that by 1995 “…somewhere between 75 and 85 percent of all species of living animals will be extinct.” (2)

The Club of Rome provided their doomsday scenario in The Limits to Growth, published in 1972. They warned that the world would run out of gold by 1981, mercury and silver by 1985, tin by 1987 and petroleum, copper, lead and natural gas by 1992. (4)

“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” - H.L. Mencken
