Homosexual Activists Using Google Maps to Intimidate
Dakota Voice. ^ | February 12th, 2009 | Bob Ellis

Homosexual activists are taking their famed “tolerance” to a whole new level and are using Google Maps to identify and target donors to California’s successful defense of marriage, Proposition 8.

According to WorldNetDaily, a website called Prop 8 Maps combines Google Maps technology with a list of the names, donation amount and location of anyone who donated $100 or more to Prop 8.

The article quotes homosexual activist Ruth Schneider as claiming the website ”should be an invitation to have an open conversation,” but it is clear that by providing the names and locations of these donors, this is an attempt to invite harassment of the donors and intimidate them from future efforts to defend marriage.

Yeah, that’s my thought there, too.
After all, we know that the police do not have the obligation of our safety... and last time I checked, self-defense was still legal.

Just as, you know, saying and supporting political ideas... oh, and practicing your Religion.

Or did I miss where the Bill of Rights was only for a certain group?

Nope, not here... .22, 5.7mm, 9mm, 357 magnum, .45... oh, and a couple of shotguns.

One of the lovely “women” renting the house across the street has a big sign in her car window that says, “My Friends are Victims of H8!”.
Just the other day two of them were having a loud “lover’s quarrel” out on the front lawn, in the middle of the day.

Real nice neighbors...NOT!

The problem might be removing dead homos from your property. But you could always call a snow plow..

For several years the same tactic has been used to publicize the locations of people on sex offender lists. The general purpose is the same, to incite harassment against the persons so listed. When we had threads on the subject, approval was nearly unanimous.

This genie is out of the bottle. Tech always cuts both ways.

Thing is, Any sane person would agree with keeping track of rapists ans child molesters, however tracking and harassing folks based on their politics and religion is another. Seems you're unable to see the difference.

I’ve said before, that the names and maps of those who donated to the Anti-Prop 8 side should be printed and dropped off in Black and Hispanic GANG areas. I’m sure some friends and relatives of these groups have been threatened.

>>>Seems you’re unable to see the difference.

There wasn’t the slightest doubt in my mind when I hit Post that somebody would take it as a defense of gay vigilantism. Nor is there the slightest doubt a clear reading would show I oppose both sorts of vigilantism shown here.

The difference YOU seem unable to see is that a hammer can be used to strike any nail it’s aimed at. Not just the nails you personally think should be struck. Once this google-maps concept was used as a means to target one class of people of whom you disapprove, how can you imagine it won’t be used on other classes including people you DO approve?

People who supported Prop 8 can do the same to those who opposed it. Since this opportunity is available to both sides if they so choose to take advantage of it, I don’t have a problem with it. If some people cross a line and vandalize or issue death threats, then prosecute those particular people for their actions.

And perhaps California and other states should revise their disclosure laws, but if they do, just think how the leftists will use such changes to conceal donations. I’d much rather the rule be that you better be willing to stand up for what you believe in and face a boycott or losing friendships with neighbors than have it be OK to secretly funnel all kinds of money without anyone being able to know who gave what.

I don't know what the problem is. I'm all for diversity. In my home it comes in 7.62, .38, .22 and goes on and on...

A safe estimate is that 50% or so of Prop 8 supporters are also gun owners. There are safer people to harass.
