It might be par for the course, but liberal cable talk show host Bill Maher has once again done his best to offend with a distasteful and insensitive wisecrack about the U.S. military.
Maher launched into a rant on his March 27 HBO show, "Real Time with Bill Maher" about American soldiers still stationed in Germany and Japan and took a swipe at the soldiers, insinuating they were rapists.
"Forget about bringing the troops home Iraq - we need to get the troops home from World War II," Maher said. "Can anybody tell me why in 2009, we still have more than 50,000 troops in Germany and 30,000 in Japan? At some point these people are going to have to learn to rape themselves."

David Bellavia is no slouch. He has been nominated to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was also part of the Vets for Freedom group travelling around the USA telling the real story of US military success in Iraq.
You shouldn’t insult asses by associating them with Maher
He does have the Constitutional right to make a total asshole out of himself. Which he does regularly.
So can I pay to see a cage match between Maher and Bellavia? I’d pay good money.
David Bellavia is a Hero and he’s an extremely nice man too! Maher has no class and no respect and he isn’t fit to breath the same air as our Heroes!
Its a shame he doesn’t fire back with live ammo.
If this guy really wanted to kick thing up a notch, he could ask Maher about the fact that, 90 to 95% of these crimes were all perpertrated by a certain, ahem, common demographic subset of our military personnel. It’s been that way, not just in the past 20 years, but ever since WWII, among US troops stationed in Europe and Asia.
Maybe compiling the stories and pictures together and then asking lil’ Bill to clarify what he’s trying to say....
Bill Maher is a “comedian” (I guess), so who cares what he says about anything?
Ignore him and move on.
Although I’d be interested in hearing what the crowd reaction was when he said it. Did he say it before a live audience? I’m not familiar with his new show so I don’t know.
What “common demographic subset”? I’d like to know.
My question is when will he go to far and get punched in the face for saying stupid things?

Thank you for pointing me in the direction necessary to “do some research”, though all you had to do was simply answer my question and state “common demographic subset” that these guys belonged. I didn’t know; hence, I asked. I wasn’t trying to be ... well, whatever it is you obviously thought I was being to warrant this backhanded response.
