Such policy represents a triple threat: it will destroy economic activity; it will cripple trade; and it will hurt the poorest the most.

I wonder when UN/international policies did NOT hurt the poor the most. Although there are some good efforts out there, many policies seem designed to keep huge masses of poor people under the thumbs of despots.

If the poor were brought up to middle class standards, there would be nothing left for the UN meddlers to do.

No it won't.
One of the essentials of socialism, or "spreading the wealth," is that misery gets spread around instead.

Workers and taxpayers will be squeezed dry first, followed by their joining the "unfortunate" (read parasites) among us.

Just saying.
