A banner across the main square in Jesus' boyhood town condemns those who insult Islam's Prophet Muhammad a message by Muslim hard-liners for Pope Benedict XVI during his pilgrimage to the Holy Land next month.
The pontiff may have to tread carefully with his visit to Nazareth. Many Muslims are still angry over a 2006 speech in which Benedict quoted a medieval text depicting the prophet as violent.
Even some Christians are nervous that Benedict could stir up trouble for them. They worry that if he says anything contentious about Islam again, Muslims might lash out.

I’m still waiting for the rest of the world
to “lash out” at Muslim terror.
and Muslim torture!
In what language was it written...press one for Spanish...Press 2 for Farsi...Press three for....!
This is a brave and decent thing for Pope Benedict to do.
I'm still angry that a blind nun was shot in the back by a member of the most cowardly and evil religion on Earth.
I have to say that I'm Impressed with Pope Benedict XVI, I admire and thank him for moving the church back toward its origins.
Regardless of consequences, the truth should always be stated.
Absolutely.
When you live in a powder keg you’d better be ready for explosions. Lest the Israelis get rid of the powder, at least....which they won’t.
Benedict XVI Bump!
Oxymoron.
Oxymoron.
Or would that be redundant???
Is there any creature more thin skinned than a muzzie? Look at how think skinned zero is.
“...condemns those who insult Islam’s Prophet Muhammad”
Dead people can be insulted? What do they care, they’re DEAD?
Oh, Pope Benedict went easy on their false prophet. Muhammad wasn't just violent, don't forget that he was a pedophile too.
From the article:
The banner was put up by followers of Nazem Abu Salim, a radical Muslim preacher, right next to the Church of the Annunciation [. . .] It is there for the pope, Abu Salim said. "He is not welcome here."
The banner clearly visible from the church, which Benedict is to visit trumpets a verse from the Quran declaring, "Those who harm God and His Messenger God has cursed them in this world and in the hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating punishment."
Will the "moderate Muslims" in the world condemn this? If I were betting, I would say they won't. Until they begin to condemn words and acts of violence, and until they begin to permit free worship in their nations, I will never trust the claims of tolerance by the Muhammadans.
