(Jordan's King Abdullah) Abdullah sees events rushing toward a "57-state solution" in the Middle East, with President Obama overseeing a grand bargain in which all 57 Muslim countries will recognize Israel in exchange for...something. The details, as usual, are vague, especially with regard to the most intractable issues. What comes through most clearly is that Abdullah foresees "the world" ganging up on Israel to force a "solution." Otherwise? More war.

[Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu's expected visit to Washington next week will be the turning point.

What we are talking about is not Israelis and Palestinians sitting at the table, but Israelis sitting with Palestinians, Israelis sitting with Syrians, Israelis sitting with Lebanese. And with the Arabs and the Muslim world lined up to open direct negotiations with Israelis at the same time. So it's the work that needs to be done over the next couple of months that has a regional answer to this -- that is not a two-state solution, it is a 57-state solution. ...

...the Obama administration has fallen for the risible claim that resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is the key to solving the multitude of problems that beset the Middle East and the Muslim world generally.
If you consider that a third of the world does not recognise Israel -- 57 nations of the United Nations do not recognise Israel, a third of the world -- their international relationships can't be all that good. More countries recognise North Korea than Israel. That is a very strong statement when we are offering a third of the world to meet them with open arms.

Pray for Israel!
Oops...the title should have been : A 57-State Solution?
Didn’t 0bama reference “57 States” during his campaign? Could that have been a Freudian reference to the 57 mentioned here?
Maybe these are the 57 states 0 talked about during the campaign...
I am fairly certain (as other Freepers have noted in the past) that these ARE the 57 states that Obama mentioned during his campaign by mistake.
If someone who denies the Holocaust, like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, supports a final solution to the Israel problem, keep your military ready. The last Final Solution didn't turn out well.
If someone who hates Jews and has spent years looking for ways to destroy those of your faith, like Syria's Bashar al-Assad, agrees to that "Final Solution", make sure you read the fine print and watch for tricks.
If an anti-Semitic bigot, like Obama, proposes a "Final Solution" to the problem of Jews in the Middle-East, it's time to deal with your regional enemies on your own before you have to face them and the United States simultaneously.
Obama’s 57 included Guam, DC, Puerto Rico, USVVI etc. Number of Dem primary contests.
Exactly, obama is a muslim, true and true, it is hard for him to disguise it..
Looks like Obama is going to be able to se all those 57 states he talked about in the campaign!!
If obama and his 57 friends come up with a 7 year peace deal that will give Israel 3.5 years to prepare for war.
in which all 57 Muslim countries will recognize Israel in exchange for...something.”
It will never happen.
They’ll recognize Israel in exchange for every Jew leaving the Middle East.
I think the 57 came from 50 states - the one he was speaking in - the two he hadn't been to yet = 57. Slip of the tongue which would have destroyed a Republican for being too stupid to breathe according to the press. Largely ignored except on right wing sites when The One did it.
Is this the same king that the empty suit bowed to and kissed his hand?
