King Abdullah: 'This is not a two-state solution, it is a 57-state solution'
The Times ^ | May 11, 2009 | Richard Beeston

Posted on 05/11/2009 9:34:08 PM PDT by george76

A cynic might say, we’ve had the Annapolis peace conference, we’ve had the road map for peace, the Arab initiative, almost a decade with no results. What’s the difference now?

Four or five decades! There are two major factors. We are sick and tired of the process. We are talking about direct negotiations. That is a major point. We are approaching this in a regional context. You could say through the Arab peace proposal. The Americans see this as we do and I think the Europeans. Britain is playing a very vital pro-active role, more than I have ever seen in the ten years of my experience in bringing people together.

What we are talking about is not Israelis and Palestinians sitting at the table, but Israelis sitting with Palestinians, Israelis sitting with Syrians, Israelis sitting with Lebanese. And with the Arabs and the Muslim world lined up to open direct negotiations with Israelis at the same time. So it’s the work that needs to be done over the next couple of months that has a regional answer to this — that is not a two-state solution, it is a 57-state solution.

That is the tipping point that shakes up Israeli politicians and the Israeli public. Do you want to stay Fortress Israel for the next ten years? The calamity that that would bring to all of us, including the West? This has become a global problem. We are saying to the Israelis that this is an issue that is far bigger than you Israelis and the Palestinians. This is where I think the Obama Administration gets it.

Would that be the same 57 states the pencil-necked kaffir mentioned visiting during the late campaign?????

...so a bunch of states run by dictators, thugs and kings now want to take a vote?

Anyone else see any irony?

57 is the number of named states in the Caliphate.

This is no coincidence or joke.

So what Dick Beeson is saying is it not about all these Arab states wanting to push the Jews into the sea for the past 60 years, oh, no!

It's "Fortress Israel's" fault that we have no peace. I mean if they just simply lost in 1948, or 1956, or 1967, or 1973, or 1982, or any year of the Infatada, there would be puppy dogs, rainbows and unicorns with Arabs and but of course no Jews.

Simple or Final Solution, Dick?

Israel may have to remain Fortress Israel for the next ten years, the next twenty years, the next two hundred years! Until the Arabs learn to love their children more than they hate the Israelis as Golda Meir said. I cannot believe that the geographically small and population tiny state of Israel is the source of all the problems in the Arab world. Nor can I accept that any Arab state gives a rat's rear about the Palestinians, else why wouldn't they take them in? If the Pallies had any sense they'd realize they'd get a much better deal making peace with Israel than they'll get from any deal with their Arab brothers, who will f*** them any chance they get.

I'm just guessing, but perhaps zero will assist in the creation of a seven year covenant this time? Just saying...

If you consider that a third of the world does not recognise Israel — 57 nations of the United Nations do not recognise Israel, a third of the world

There are 57 Muslim majority countries, 0 claims he's been to 57 states, King Abdullah makes an ambiguous "57-state solution" comment, and there are 57 flavors of Heinz ketchup.

WTF is going on here?

And by the way King Abdullah, 57 countries is not necessarily a third of the world. You have to look at population. The population of India, China, and the US alone is probably greater than all those 57 countries.

My first reaction was, surely this is a strange coincidence to Obama's classic gaffe...right?

Barack is a Muslim, and now we will be a Muslim landmass.

Just like Europe.
