It is not news, but just for the record, Eritrea tyrant Isias Afewarki doesn't trust any one in the world. Afewarki believes that the wold is out to get him. Afewarki believes that all calls for democracy, justice, rule of law, human rights, free press etc is in Afewarki's paranoid mind nothing but a plot against him and pretext to get him, and that regional, international, and non-governmental organizations are instruments of Neo-colonialism! Afewarki makes no secret about his paranoia vis á vis the international community, and the international media is not unfamiliar with his paranoid outbursts in this regard either! The Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) was the latest to get a piece of it in an interview with the tyrant posted to the web today.
...conspiracies and hostilities weaved in the name of regional, international and non-governmental organizations, at one time under the pretext of free press or humanity and still at other times in the name of charity are some of the instruments of neo-colonialism masterminded by intelligence agencies. Afewarki told SUNA.
...irrespective of the slogans such organizations chant or the flag they wave, there is no doubt that they are the champions of colonialism...neo-colonialism is not a new phenomenon, ....right after the time Africa was formally declared free from colonialism, the African countries were in actual fact exposed to disguised colonialism. At a time when US domination seeking to place our planet under hegemony has become quite evident as neo-colonialism is on the rise, the world population including that of the United States is increasingly voicing the need for change, tyrant Afewarki elaborated.
...the United Nations, including the Security Council has become an unjust and inequitable tool of a few countries, ...the UN must respect the dignity and sovereignty, as well as territorial integrity of member states, so ordered tyrant Afewarki.
Tyrant Afewarki hit the African Union hardest, As for the African Union, it is but "talking about a vacuum," so let Afewarki SUNA know.
Never mind who is speaking, but is there an Eritrean that prefers btyranny than democracy?
detention without trial than justice?
rule by the bullets than by the books?
Issues of paramount national interest, national security, matter of war and peace, national and territorial sovereignty to be decided by one man than on national basis?
One-man rule than a government of, by, for the people with check-and-balance(national constitution, executive, legislative, and judiciary branch)?
Is there an Eritrean that would not raise his/her voice when basic human rights are bluntly negated?
When Freedom of religion, free press, free speech are bluntly denied?
When national elections are abrogated, political dissent declared treason, and national constitution bluntly dismissed into oblivion?
When people are denied of their ethnic and cultural rights?
When the country is at odds with its neighbors, regional, continental, international organizations and international power houses?
When the country is hence diplomatically and politically isolated?
When the youth are sent to military national service with no end?
When people are told to eat less when they complain about basic food shortages?
When the country is hit by famine?
When the youth is leaving the country en masse for destination X by foot, on camel's back, by torturous sea and dying in the Sahara and the seas?
how about a map, for the rest of us. And maybe a link the World Almanac, just so we can brush up.
Trust me Mr. Afewarki, nobody gives a damn.
Coming soon to our corner of the world.
Hmmm... between Sudan and Ethiopia. Not a good place to be.
Talk about bad luck.
Eritrea, a bastard country from 1995, carved outta Ethiopia, a sucker of the Saudi teat and instigator and arms merchant to jihadis in Somalia.
One of the last countries to gain independence and a UN seat, prior to the Balkan statelets.
Why do we tolerate their shenanigans?
