The philosophy may be challenged, but the equations elegantly and almost exactly calculate the behavior of quark-gluon plasma and other superfluids. So if you don't care about quark-gluon plasma and other superfluids, then go ahead and ignore string theory. Otherwise, better start using that noodle.

Are these superfluids (such as quark-gluon plasma) slippery? Do people slip and fall on them? /dunderhead
