VIDEO: Sen. Jim DeMint - Facts Don't Support Obama in Honduras!
Washington News Observer ^ | July 10, 2009 | WNO

Senator Jim DeMint spoke with Washington News Observer on the shocking response from the Obama Administration in response to Honduras.

“I am just at a loss to understsand why the Obama Administration is saying that this was an illegal coup and that the constitutional process was interrupted. The facts don’t appear to back them up.”

“When the United States is on the side of Chavez, who hates us, who’s trying to organize the whole region against us, we’ve just got to ask if we’re on the right side. Chavez, Ortega, the Castro brothers are clearly not on the side of freedom.”

“In my mind, the facts say this was a constitutional process that way carried out by the government and Zelaya abdicated his role as president when he attempted to change the constitution.

With The First Thug and Surrender-In-Chief, it's never about facts (unless they benefit his ideology).

It's about feeeeeeeeeeeelings. Nothing more than feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings.

what was illegal was picking him up and carting him off to Costa Rica. If what zelaya did was illegal, use the constitutional process to pick him up, arrest him, and put him on trial. Kidnapping him at gun point in the middle of the night and ejecting him from the country was illegal. Both sides were wrong in this case.

I am liking this man more and more everyday. Why doesn’t he run for the 2012 nomination? DeMint/Palin 21012?

I think you need to study up on Section 239 of the Constitution of Honduras. And you also need to carefully review Zelaya’s proven capacity for inciting violence among his Marxist followers. Sometimes it’s a good idea to give a little credit and credence to the people on the ground who know the law and the lay of the land.

They were trying to avoid bloodshed, and they did.

I beg to differ here...

When he broke the constitution, in this case he also lost his citizenship. He had to be deported. If they put him in jail, there would have been more bloodshed from Chavez thugs that illegally entered the country.

They were far more gentle that I would have been in that situation. I would have deported him to the jungle floor from about 30,000 feet..... With predudice.

It doesn’t surprise me that Obama is supporting this...he’s setting up his own ‘take-over’ in about 8 years (or so he thinks). Obama is fond of saying things are true and having everyone accept it as truth. He figures if he does it long and often enough, what is wrong will be right, up will be down, etc. He’s a nutcase, and that’s the nicest thing I can say about him.

That video would be all over the news casts, and every joe-six-pack would be repeating his points verbatim if it were Bush doing precisely like the current White House menstruation is doing.

Instead virtually no one will ever hear DeMint's spot on observations.

Both sides were wrong in this case.

Ah, the old moral equivalence game.
Man runs across the street to stop a rape. The man who ran across the street was jaywalking.
"Both sides were wrong in this case"...

"When he broke the constitution, in this case he also lost his citizenship. He had to be deported. If they put him in jail, there would have been more bloodshed from Chavez thugs that illegally entered the country."

What they should have done is put him to sleep with the fishes.
