Pence calls on Van Jones to resign
Politico ^ | September 04, 2009 | Martin Kady II

Rep. Mike Pence, the no. 3 Republican in the House, is calling on Obama green jobs czar Van Jones to resign.

This sort of thing would usually be laughed off by Democrats -- a conservative Republican telling a Democratic appointee to quit.

But the Obama team isn't exactly jumping to back Jones today in wake of revelations that in the past he signed on to one of the "truther" groups that claimed 9/11 was an inside job. Oh, and he called Republicans a**holes in a video earlier this year before he was appointed.

Asked about Jones' affiliations with the 9/11 group at the daily briefing, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs would only say: "It's not something that the president agrees with." And then Gibbs referred other questions to a statement Thursday by the Council on Environmental Quality in which Jones said he never backed any of these 9/11 conspiracy groups.

"Given recent revelations concerning the associations and statements of the president's green jobs czar, Van Jones should resign his position and if he is unwilling to do so, the president should demand his resignation. His extremist views and coarse rhetoric have no place in this Administration or the public debate," Pence said. "The Constitution of the United States vests Congress with the responsibility to advise and consent in the appointment of high ranking officials by the president. To date, President Obama has appointed more than thirty individuals to ‘czar’ positions within his Administration without permitting the Congress or the American people to properly examine their backgrounds or public records."

Once again, Mike Pence steps in to fill the leadership vacuum in the House GOP.

John Beehner can't and won't lead the GOP out of the political wilderness and back to the Majority.
Mike Pence can. He is a natural leader.

Bad timing. He’ll need to do it again the middle of next week.

Just heard Mark Simone who is filling in for Sean Hannity this afternoon.........he reminded everyone that it was Van Jones who began the boycott against Glenn Beck.

I don’t want him to resign....I want Obama to DEMAND his resignation and THEN Obama needs to come forward about the rest of his czar appointees and what his TRUE agenda is. Otherwise, he needs to go....impeach...whatever. We can NOT let up on this guy.

VIDEO LINKS for your friends this weekend:

Van Jones called Republicans a**holes

Van Jones portrays President Bush as a "crackhead"

Van Jones speaks his (Marxist) mind at Berkeley

Let's spread this far and wide over Labor Day weekend to make Jones' position untenable next week.

Remind them that this is a WHITE HOUSE SENIOR OFFICIAL who directly oversees $3.6 billion in stimulus funds, and would oversee another $56 billion if Cap and Trade became law.

Mike needs to up the ante and demand that ALL czars be forced to resign and be nominated by Obama for vetting through the congressional confirmation process prior to appointment to specific open cabinet positions.

Glenn Beck is not in Congress, he is on TV.
Mike Pence is one of the few members in Congress — on either side of the aisle — who seems to be in touch with the American people.

Van Jones is just the tip of the iceberg in the Obama administration. Cass Sunstein and Ezekiel Emmanuel are equally too far left to be trusted. However, Jones is sadly typical of the people Obama has associated himself with for decades. Obama apparently listened intently to Rev. Wright's radical diatribes

Did he call for Obama to resign since Obama sees the world the same way?

Here we are on FR - probably the nation's most active conservative site - and we rarely if ever hear any news or dissent or commentary from the 218 Republicans on Capitol Hill.

The most prominent voices of conservatism aren't Republicans in the Congress, but the obvious handful of private individuals who speak out consistently.

The Congress of the United States needs a top to bottom purge, including both Democrats AND Republicans.

President 0.J. isn't going to do that.
I'm hoping Van Jones stands his ground and 0bama Jr. vigorously defends him.
The mask has fallen away now.
0bama is on the verge of going completely rogue.
Let the American people see just what kind of monster they have handed their country over to.
