Three ladies on his staff talked to us for about 30 minutes, and were great in answering alot of our concerns.
It was a stark difference going over to Al Green's office. While the lady was cordial, you could tell she did not believe me when I told her we lived in his district.
Hubby signed in to their book and I handed her a "Pink Slip" to give to Mr. Green and as we walked out, I told her that we really are his constituents!
As a veteran of the March for Justice (1998), I can tell you you are in for unbelievable excitement being in our Capitol with so many other great Americans!
Breathe it all in and I promise you won’t be coming off the high until you’ve returned. I WISH I could’ve made it up for this protest, but I have health issues too.
STAY SAFE AND HAVE A BALL!!!
OUTSTANDING!
Welcome to Washiungton
The arrogant SOBs are in for a shock.
Sorry about the mistake. Our conversations have been a little short since you were always about to take off to see more.
To: All
Well, my sister thoroughly enjoyed the march and the gathering afterwords.
As I believe I mentioned, she and her DH have never been to DC before and theyre really enjoying all of the sights they’ve been to. My days are kind of running together so now I can’t remember whether it was this morning when they were at the Smithsonian or not.
I do know she know wants to go back to DC to see what she’s missed and to make sure she has more time to spend.
Now, y’all don’t know what a grump she can be especially when her feet hurt. As she told me, her blisters have blisters and she’s not complaining and still wants to go back. Out of all of the places she’s visited this is the only one she wants to go back to.
I wish I had more in the way of specifics to offer but once she’s back in Houston, I’m sure she’ll have a lot to share.
I can’t wait til you’re home and we have more time to talk about all you saw and what you did. Oh, and lots and lots of pictures please!
