Don’t be so sure. A LOT of Freepers are regular followers of CA. And Andy Watts. CA tends to be a bit technical, but for us tech types, its math porn.
After all, I, too, have been a Freeper since nearly the beginning of Jim's project.
Nevertheless, it seems to me that opposition to "anthropogenic global warming" (AGW) is not yet as focused as it should and could be, most likely due to (1.) a profound, incessant drumbeat by the alarmists and their Fools among the fashion police, and (2.) a shortage of those translating, and then writing and disseminating, the many excellent fact-based rebuttals.
It's not yet enough just to dislike Al Gore and the preening progressives, especially our "president," who have succeeded in making of empirical science a tool of partisan politics, shameless greed, and power and rent-seeking behavior.
Since the tide has turned, primarily because of the fact-checkers and the courage among those who have laid their reputations on the line to oppose the Hockey Team and the UN, those of us who understand the facts of the situation owe it to them to help get the word out, also.
I think we will know we have really turned the full corner when Al Gore, and especially Socialist Democrats wielding political power, like our "president," start to become fearful of being exposed as clowns, frauds and fools.
We will know we have made real progress when Republicans start to fear parroting the UN's ridiculous talking points. (I won't use John McCain as an example since I doubt reason and facts would move him to examine the facts, but there are Republicans who would welcome some political will to help foster their growing "a couple.")
And we are SO CLOSE, far closer than I would have imagined possible two years ago. (Thank God for the prolonged Solar Minimum and the evidence of "climate change" (really, just "climate") elsewhere in the solar system, etc.
We will have turned a corner when news like "Cherry-picking of historic proportions" rates more than 50 comments when posted here on FR. That's as excellent and accurate a measure of political progress as any principled Conservative could hope for.
