The point is we probably have a ready way to put a ceiling on the earth's thermostat setting, rendering Gore worries quite moot. This would be "cosmic ray" guns (linear accelerators) in strategic places, sweeping across the sky. So we don't need to worry any more about holding our collective CO₂ breaths.
