I went the spanish route, got right through and stopped all mailing to my home...I was polite and the young lady was polite back
You have to ask to speak to an operator as they try to get you to go to a website to call Congress. I have been on hold for ten minutes. Thank you Magic Jack which saves cell phone minutes.
I am telling them to remove me from their mailing list even though I am not a member as I don’t want to see AARP appear in my mailbox again.
I finally got through and stopped any mailing to my home and told the girl why. She was nice so I was nice back. They said all calls are recorded so I hope they got my they chose the wrong person to head AARP.
cancelled
IMO the POSOTUS mentioning AARP’s support of PelosiObamaCare was a warning to RATS that they face losing party support ($$$) if they vote NO on the socialist program.
This isn’t a recent development with AARP; they have been big supporters of liberal causes for years. I refused to join primarily due to their anti-gun stance.
Here is the letter that I sent to Barry Rand, CEO of the AARP, a few weeks ago after receiving an unsolicited AARP membershp card in the mail:
“Effective immediately, please do not contact me for any reason from now until a hundred years after my death. I have absolutely no interest in your Socialist-Marxist organization. Please remove me from all AARP communications of every and any kind, including, but not limited to solicitations, emails, telephone calls, etc., I do not want you or the AARP to communicate with me. In other words, leave me alone forever.
Please take notice that I shall deem any and all future contacts from the AARP as an invasion of privacy and an intentional act to harrass and annoy, which may result in legal action against you and your organization.”
I then send the letter back in the postage-paid envelope that the AARP provided with its solicitation. (The AARP only pays postage on the envelopes when they are used and therefore, I urge everyone to use these envelopes when telling the AARP to FO in response to unsolicited offers.)
Just say no to Americans Against Retired People!
I agree that we should write to them, but I’d personally avoid using words like fascist and communist — they’re just empty words these days and would insult a lot of elderly people. Tell them its bankrupting our country, will cost too much money, and will create a bloated govt bureaucracy. But comparing health care to hitler or stalin will probably get the letter tossed away.. most retired persons remember fighting real communists and fascists.
I would never belong to that socialist pile of crap but what really pisses me off is the are continuously running ads for their Medicare Advantage programs which will be eliminated under every bill in congress and at the same time pushing passage of the bills!
