I also blame Bohner for this, and whoever the minority whip is. Talk about not have enough party discipline. The time for debate is over, Republicans need to be ruthless. Stop all work in the House and Senate. Show that they care about this country, rather than pretend when they are in front of the base.
I thought maybe the newbie voted “Yea” to preserve the rights of the minority to challenge the bill’s vote in the future. I recall some kind of arcane rule about that. Since he was the new guy, he drew the short straw.

Once Soros and the Dems engineered the McCain primary victory it was all over.
The tea party folks have not accomplished anything. Not one thing was stopped, not one thing was burned. The left had the decency at least to leave a path of destruction on it’s way to ultimate power. Very well said and I join you — we lost 8 Republicans when they passed cap and trade so this was closer and would bet they told the GOP guy from New Orleans to vote for this bill for his district of welfare people.
