I’m tired of people’s calling other people “liars,” when they mean, “I disagree with their opinion,” or when they mean, “I think they have their facts wrong.”
Lying requires (1) knowledge of the truth, and (2) intent to conceal the truth. Being honestly wrong about facts is not lying; having an opinion others dislike is not lying.
“The creationists must be lying because they don’t believe our cladograms”, he said with a straight face.
Unfortunately there are people on both sides of the argument who simply can’t bear to live with the idea that the other side exists. However I think the greatest number are those who are fine with the beliefes of the others as long as we’re free to believe what we want.
Personally I’m one of those who believes in directed evolution of mankind. (Christian evolutionist) We’re clearly different than any other creature on the planet and even very distinct from the creatures most similar to us.

It's really the same mentality as calling people *haters* just because they disagree with you or something you believe in, or they point out errors or inconsistencies in the same.
These days nobody wants to hear any correction. We have to sooth their poor little feelings and tell them what they want to hear.
