I understand why she said this, basically she is saying she will be watching closely to see what happens in Afghanistan. It’s a “safe” statement. I guess I was expecting to hear her slam Obama but oh well. We can’t agree on everything.

Exactly, She is trying to be pragmatic in a sense all the while boxing him in if he cut and ran (which he will do!)
Sarah had to back O up because as she says she advocated basically the same outline in strategy. Sarah does however differs with O on a number of points. Its not the best strategy O is proposing but it is better than pulling out. If I understand the meaning of pragmatic this is Sarah being pragmatic.
Sarah is correct. She is plaing chess while some are still playing checkers.
There is more than one way to put Obama on the hot seat besides an outright slap
You can’t slam someone for doing what you ask them to do. I think she did a great job here. If Obama drops the ball, as he will, Sarah can jump on him and have the credibility of having been objective. If Sarah never takes the highroad then she is just going to come off as a bitter person and you can not win hearts and minds by being bitter.
