The last time this happened on Jan. 4th, the comet was destroyed, and history could repeat itself later today. So, it's apparently possible that a comet, “plunging toward the sun,” can go through the sun somehow unscathed?

Are there any other possible outcomes?

Let's see; the sun is a giant nuclear furnace & a comet is a speeding chunk of space ice. What will happen? What will happen?
To: TaraP
OK. One comet is just coincidence. Two comets? Who is attacking our sun? And how will we protect it?

I saw two meteors on Tuesday and was wondering what object was near. They were both very bright and came very close to the ground.
