Weird, I woke up suddenly at 4, went and looked at the news and read there had just been an earthquake. I’m going back to bed now.

Wow, I know that town and have been there several times. It’s right on the way to DeKalb and Northern Illinois University from the NW Suburbs of Chicago.
I felt the one that hit Southern Illinois in the mid-to late 1980s (can’t remember the exact year). It was a little higher on the scale, but down south, not up north...
I haven’t read through the thread yet. I hope everyone is OK... Some beautiful OLD structures in that area of Illinois... A lot of farmland too though (at least a decade go there was...).

It woke me up here in Downers Grove (suburb directly west of Chicago). I'm on the 4th (top) floor of a condo building that rocked and rolled for about half a minute.
Then it sounded like a couple of huge metal balls were rolling across the roof over my head. I got out of the bedroom quickly and am now in another room typing.
The weight of the enormous amount of snow on our building's flat roof plus a hugh HVAC unit directly overhead is giving me pause.
The epicenter appears to be about 35 miles directly west of me.
Need some coffee, quick. Yikes!

4.3? Child’s play.
But 50 miles from Chicago, home of the Corruter-in-Chief and the wellspring from whence his political power arose? Perhaps it’s a warning of electoral shake-up.
Lots of strange things have happened that have negatively impacted the rats. Wexler quit, another guy abandoned ship and changed parties to become a pub, Teddy died and got replaced with a pub. Now Murtha has kicked the bucket and will most certainly be replaced with a pub.
Maybe the Big Guy upstairs is trying to tell the rats something.

We felt it here up north, near Lake Geneva WI. That’s about 60 miles from DeKalb. Rattled the doors.

I felt it (I am aboiut 30 miles west of Chicago). The bed shook. I thought my wife had awakened and was feeling frisky. No such luck. Just an earthquake.
