No, that would be very, very tragic... With the way the buildings like that are on the South side many, many people would die, including the police and firefighters, etc... who would have to try to save and rescue people.

As for this earthquake; 4.3 may not be a very big earthquake, but it’s not like these older towns have much in the way of building reinforcements due to any risk factors. It’s not an area that gets earthquakes often at all... Plus there is a college close to Sycamore in DeKalb (the county seat) - Northern Illinois Univ. is there — a pretty big college and a pretty big college town as well as agricultural “hub”. Might even be a “small city” officially now as I haven’t been there in 12 years...
