I would love to see more info about this. So many questions, e.g., will these anaerobic organisms perish. What will be the effect of all that iron on the biota where the waterfall is flowing?

these microbes exist without heat, light, or oxygen If it is a "lake", it darn sure has "heat"!
And lots of microbes; perhaps even the majority don't need light or oxygen, which are even deadly to them.
