(rising over the sun's northeastern limb)

SOLAR PROMINENCE: Today, amateur astronomers around the world are monitoring a huge prominence rising over the sun's northeastern limb. It's so big, it won't fit in the space provided. Click on the image below to see the entire arch:
Eric Roel took the picture just hours ago from his backyard observatory in Valle de Bravo, Mexico. Since then, the view has changed. Magnetic fields underpinning this magnificent structure are in a state of fairly rapid motion, pulling the plasma to and fro, offering a different profile to every observer. The whole thing could become unstable and collapse. Readers with solar telescopes are encouraged to monitor developments.

This one looks scarier for some reason. Need some expert opinion.

Proof of man made solar warming due to our increasing use of sunglasses and tanning lotions. Only pasty white communists can save the glaciers on the dark side of the sun!

Quick Froggy - pluck your twanger!
I guess a real concern is will this generate a X class flare?

TaraP: WOW! I have not heard the Quick Froggy Pluck Your Twanger phrase is about 40 years! Are you a child of the 50s or did you catch this on reruns? “Hiya, kids, hiya, hiya!”

You know, if the sun wasn’t necessary for life to exist on Earth, I wouldn’t want to be so close to that thing. It looks dangerous, lol.
