Rhodes View of Why People Listen to Rush: 'He's on Every Radio Station - They Have No Choice'
Newsbusters ^ | April 6, 2010 | Jeff Poor

It's a simple law of economics, right? If there's a demand for a certain service or good, that business has a strong shot at thriving. Since the now-defunct Air America shut down for the last time earlier this year, the casual observer must conclude that no one wanted to hear left-wing diatribes over the broadcast airwaves.

But that's not the case according to a panel on HLN's April 5 "The Joy Behar Show." This meeting of the minds, consisting of Behar, GQ's Ana Marie Cox and liberal talk show host Randi Rhodes, accused conservative talker Rush Limbaugh of playing victim in responding to an interview President Barack Obama conducted with CBS News in which the president mentioned Limbaugh and Glenn Beck by name - calling them "troublesome."

But why is this newsworthy, according to Rhodes? Limbaugh has huge audience where people are allegedly forced to listen to him because he is on "every station."

Don’t accept the premise.

Prov 26:4
Do not answer a fool according to his folly,
or you will be like him yourself.

It’s not the libs fault. They were never taught in the public schools and liberal colleges that those things on the radio are called “buttons” and you can turn them off or on, and you can change the channel, and you can use the “mute” button to silence the radio. It’s just that they were never taught that those buttons can be moved around to get different effects. I heard that the gov’t is now funding a program that will initially be offered at colleges, and later provided in public schools (K-12 grade), called “Radio Buttons and Their Effect On Sounds” and it will be mandatory for all students.

If Rush was on every station, I would not have trouble finding him while I travel. I still wish Rush was on XM.

“I know where the mindset comes from. It’s the “distribution of assets” mindset, the top-down control mindset.”

Exactly. You’ve elaborated on what I alluded to. The lefties actually see the world this way. Including the idiots running the White House.

I tell ya what... I travel the country for a living and have a REAL hard time trying to find the ONE station in each city that broadcasts Rush on a radio.

I usually have to end up going to my local station online with a laptop.

Here in Detroit on WJR, they LOVE to interrupt Rush for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. I’m surprised that Rush stays there.

It's true.

My Radio turns itself on to Rush everyday at noon. I cannot change the channel and it plays at a 120 decibels.

Rhodes needs some attention, so she talks about Rush Limbaugh.

Unlike Air America, Rush did not have to go around the country buying up radio stations in order to get his show on the air.

At least she didn’t complain that his podcast is the only one available at the Rush 24/7 service.

'He's on Every Radio Station - They Have No Choice'

Someone's pushing for a "fairness" doctrine.

“Soooo these idiots can’t figure out how to walk away or turn off a radio?”

They didn’t have any trouble figuring out how to do those things when her show was on the air, did they.

Right. When Rush is pre-empted by Cleveland Indians baseball, I can only find ONE station I can pick up clearly from Detroit (and occasionally on a chicago station). I WISH he were on all stations!

You’ve heard the expression “They have a face for radio”.
I’ve heard RR and she is too butt ugly even for radio.

Well, obviously, there are no "Off" buttons in Rhodes' household.

Idiot.

Rhodes, who was once employed by Air America until a suspension resulted in her ultimate departure from the network, said that particular medium wasn't successful because it was run by the wrong kind of people.

And like Rhodes, democrats always believe that the only reason socialism has been such a dismal failure everywhere it is tried is because the wrong people were in charge.

Interesting. It always seemed to me that any profit-seeking station that paid to carry Limbaugh's show would insist that it be the only station carrying the show in that particular market.

“Rhodes View of Why People Listen to Rush: ‘He’s on Every Radio Station - They Have No Choice’”

A stupid comment that no one with a functioning brain would believe, however IF it were true, WHY is he on all these stations? Conspiracy or DEMAND?
