PHOENIX (AP) -- Arodi Berrelleza isn't one of the targets of Arizona's new law cracking down on illegal immigration - he's a U.S. citizen, a high school student from Phoenix.

But the 18-year-old said he's afraid he'll be arrested anyway if police see him driving around with friends and relatives, some of them illegal immigrants.

If Zero never stops in Arizona during the remaining three (loooong) years, we’ll know for sure.

If he has proper ID, and can prove he belongs here, he won’t be arrested.

It is his friends who might be in the net.

They interviewed some higher up in the Phoenix PD and his definition of “reasonable suspicion” seemed quite sensible, non-intrusive, and non police state.

Blow me. I’m calling you an moron, which is about ten times worse than a liar, which I’m not anyway. Check which state board I’m listed on, if it matters that much to you. In fact you probably should have done that BEFORE you went around shooting your keyboard off. I don’t spend time proving the truth to the likes of you.

Obviously posted in the wrong thread. This moron claimed I was lying about what state I lived in. Please delete at your convenience.

I hope he is arrested, for harboring and trasnporting criminal invaders.

Those illegals in Arizona will probably be moving to a friendlier state soon so his problems won’t last too long. Just hope it’s not my state!

I’ve always been asked for ID when pulled over or questioned but I just thought that was cuz I’m white.

If you are hanging out with friends who are breaking the law I guess you should expect to get arrested.
Sheesh

Truthfully, you can’t do MOST things without a driver’s license.

I really wonder what percent of the legal hispanic population (who don’t have illegal relatives) really cares about this?

The headline is a bit incorrect.

It’s not a fear of racial profiling.

It’s fear of getting caught, and sent home.

So what’s so bad about home anyway?

And if home isn’t so great, why is that Americans’ fault?

“...you can’t do most things without a driver’s license.”

True.

People who drive without DLs are usually the kind who don’t care about being law abiding. Then there are those who use forged documents...

Yup. I’m just tired of all of these tired excuses. What if the govt decided that some other class of criminal was protected and so they decided that they would disallow the police from finding out their status?

IMHO the bottom line in all this is that the Federal government will NOT perform its constitutionally mandated duty to defend the nation's borders. Because the Federal Government will not do the job, the states must. Some border states are fighting for their very existence. What are we as citizens going to do if a Federal Court says we cannot defend the nation?
