High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras tonight. A coronal mass ejection (CME) is heading for Earth and it could spark geomagnetic storms when it arrives on May 27th or 28th. The following preview comes directly from the geographic South Pole........................................................

"A solar wind stream flowing from the indicated coronal hole could reach our planet on or about May 31st."What would that have to do with Volcanoes, if anything? We are supposed to be on vacation during that time. Knowing our luck, we'll be hundreds of miles from home, and all of the electronics on the planet will get fried, and we'll be caught in a 'Mad Max' scenario. (Better pack more than just a couple of handguns lol)
