Gadsden Flag Now Officially "Offensive" In America

Flag, one of nation's oldest, causes stir after being raised over Town Common

WARREN — The Warren Fire Department drew fire Friday morning when members raised one of the nation’s oldest - but these days, controversial - flags from one of three flagpoles they maintain at the Warren Town Common.

Their flying of the Gadsden Flag, a Revolutionary War-era flag depicting a coiled rattlesnake with the slogan "Don’t Tread On Me" below it, angered some residents because though it was originally created to protest the British government prior to and during the American Revolution, it has become a symbol to some of the American Tea Party movement. That conservative movement questions many of the policies, particularly fiscal, of the federal government.

The flag was raised alongside the state and U.S. flags early Friday morning. By 10:30 a.m., Warren Fire Chief Al Galinelli had received a call about it from the town manager. By the afternoon, it was taken down.

They can just get over it. Offensive political speech was what the freedom of speech was all about.

Any flag that doesn’t show what left-wingers want it to show is “offensive” to them. The Confederate flag, the Gadsden flag, even the Stars and Stripes. (Read Katha Pollitt’s rant about refusing to allow her teenage daughter to display an American flag after 9/11.)

However, a gay rainbow flag is acceptable. A Communist flag would also be acceptable, I’m sure.

In Libpsycho America theses days, it is easier to list the things that are NOT offensive.

Let’s see, well, public homosexual sex, transgenders, Black Panthers, what eles is NOT offensive, MMM Barrack Hussien Obama MMM, calling our troops terrorists and murderers, and on and on.

Not only have Americans become ashamed of their origins and country; cowardly they now give it away to the offended, hyper-concerned and Anti-American pop-culture.

Who will be there for them when they come for everything else.

From what I've been reading since the Obama Regime came to power, Old Glory is also considered "controversial" and "offensive" to most of our newer "U.S. citizens" and their commie 'RAT masters.

Communism didn't work in their home counties, I don't know why they think it will work here.

We can sum it up simply as: Homo-Leninism!

Liberalism is more than just a mental disorder; one has to work at it.

When I was a kid in school in Texas in the 70’s this flag was considered to be an important and cherished piece of history. We had to draw and color pictures of it. Well lets see we have to add this to the banned list. No Mojave cross, founding fathers bad, Columbus, Nathan Hale, John Smith - nope.nothing to do with the Alamo, constitution bad, Europe doesn’t like Cowboys, no cavalry, No confederate flag or state flag that resembles such or statues of long dead Generals on horses. No images of guns.
We need to start telling these folks to shut up. If enough people start doing it others will soon join in. The want to hide or history and replace it with their version.

“By mid afternoon, it was taken down.....” So sad.

These idiots have never seen that flag until the Tea Party Movement started using it. They were never taught anything about the American Revolution. Again, so sad.

"By the afternoon, it was taken down."

I suppose if you don't believe in what it symbolizes, you shouldn't really be flying it in the first place.
