I get the opportunity to meet with some troops on leave (former soccer players of mine) quite often. They like McCrystal because he is boots on the ground. They think he is nuts but support him.

Their bitches about serving are:
1. No beer.
2. Helmets that are nothing but sun shields.
3. Telling the enemy when we are going home.
4. The new rules of engagement. (their words: you have to see their butthole before you can shoot)
5. Smoking restrictions.

They keep re-upping. God bless them.

JMHO, McChrystal didn’t want to quit for the same reason that Petraeus won’t quit, either:

They both don’t want to walk away and leave their troops swingin’ in the wind.

A few days later I found that is called "the yellow medal".
