(oops, I forgot to hit enter on this post earlier, now I'm really hitting the hay)

No one knew how long the war or the draft would last and his sons were all close in age, so, of course he was reasonably concerned that ALL of his sons might be drafted in rapid succession. As far as the Australian draft is concerned, idk, but that's another interesting question. Did they ever become Australian citizens? The old man might have been crazy but "like a fox" shrewd. He also collected some employment disability monies from his job at the railroad, if I recall.

This a weird thing that you are on, trying to create the lie that a twelve year old kid was a draft dodger, but as far as facts go, in 1968 nobody thought that the United States would still be fighting the Vietnam War in 1974 or 1975, and of course we weren’t. Your commitment to this myth creating is ugly, did you get it from Debbie Schlussel?

You did not have to be a citizen to be drafted in Australia, only a permanent resident.
