I’ll get in my chevy Volt and hit warp speed to nowhere.

“I believe that the long-term future of the human race must be in space,” Hawking said.
He’s right — if one thinks that there can be a “long term future”.

I nominate Hawking to be first! Followed closely by BHO and entourage, Pelousy, Reid, and the rest of the libtards! They can start by going to Iran, which it seems is another world altogether.

Dear Mr Hawking,
We are too busy working on our mandated Muslim Outreach Program to spend any time working on technologies to achieve your goal.
Surely you support this sacrifice in the name of tolerance.
Signed,

Where does he say we should “abandon” the earth? Bad headline.

Well, he is the best guy to invent a technology for such an off-planet trip. Today's rockets are way too expensive, only three countries on the planet have manned spaceflight (soon to become two.) As soon as space travel becomes feasible for a common man there will be no shortage of volunteers.

Well, duh. The only problem is that a Socialist world government will NEVER allow large scale space travel. Its too good an escape route.

I think he has already done so.
When people become so technically and conceptually brilliant, that part of the brain which governs common sense
(pretty small in most cases anyway) is squeezed into, well, a black hole.

Prof. Hawking is merely issuing this prediction to use his name and reputation to re-jump start the US space program.

Dr. Smith said” due to global warming, all of the Earth’s water will evaporate...
Sorry, Dr. Smith, water does not leave the earth’s atmosphere. It does not evaporate into space.
