Wouldn’t sedimentary rock be less dense than mineral rock thus creating the only available conduits for deep oil to seep out of inner earth? Not a geologists, just a layman attempting another explanation for the correlation of sedimentary deposits and the presence of oil. Correlation is not causation.
This doesn’t discount Peak Oil...we are eating thru what is easily found,.. rather rapidly...and maybe faster than the “natural processes” whatever they really are, generate more.
could that be because only the sedimentary rock is porous enough to hold the oil?
